Evolution of Cinema – Legend Cinema’s 13th Anniversary Celebration

Phnom Penh: On Sunday, 7th July 2024, Legend Cinema celebrated its 13th anniversary at Legend Olympia Branch, the flagship cinema, equipped with modernity, space and high standards. The rapid growth and expansion from 1 to 12 locations over the past 13 years is a testament to their strong progress and their huge mark in the local film industry. This year, on their 13th celebration, they relooked into the past, the golden age and as well as to the future of the advancement of cinema under the slogan "Evolution of Cinema"

Approximately 300 guests attended the event, including notable figures such as HRH Prince Narithipong Norodom, HH Princes Ermine De-Rose Norodom, H.E Sin Chansaya (advisor to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts), Mr. Pok Borak (Director of Cinema and Cultural Diffusion Department), Mrs. Pan Phuong Bopha and artist Mrs. Dy Saveth. They were also joined by various partners, distributors, KOLs, and fans.

Founder Mr. Te Song delivered a video message, reflecting on the establishment of Legend Cinema to provide modern cinema experiences. It is summarized as, “The birth of Legend Cinema came about as there was a lack of modern cinema, with international standard and proper equipment that were able to screen Hollywood films. Seeing this gap in our industry, in 2011, he set forth to create the first ever international standard cinema in Cambodia with a commitment to providing excellent service and experience to every moviegoer.” 

The event program kicked off with Legend Cinema’s original documentaries production featuring the development of the cinema. More importantly, performances by incredible artists, theatrical performances and demonstrations of filming techniques by The Acting Art Academy and Roof Dance Group were truly captivating and extremely entertaining. There was also a grand lucky draw of prizes such as iPhone15 Pro Max from Smart Axiata, air purifier (LG PuriCare Aero Furniture) LG from GGEAR GROUP, bag from store MICHAEL KORS, JEWELRY from PANDORA, KIESLECT WATCHES & KOSPET WATCHES from TECH-ZONE, and the exclusive Diamond Member card, the new membership program of Legend Cinema’s.

On the same auspicious evening, Legend Cinema officially launched its new membership tier, the Diamond Member Card, which is the latest loyalty program offering more benefits and most importantly, a premium and luxury experience and lifestyle. The winner of their 13th Anniversary Popcorn Box design contest, "Ny Razel" received the wining prize worth total $1,200 and his design has been printed on their popcorn boxes in all branches.
